Victory Mail
Family Day |
During World War II, letters to and from American armed forces overseas got a lot smaller: they were "miniaturized" onto microfilm and developed on location. Come learn how this Victory Mail (V-Mail for short) boosted morale and lightened cargo loads. Follow a V-Mail letter from start to finish, pilot a paper plane, and learn about life during World War II. This is a great opportunity to share family memories across generations.

Art + Coffee: David Beck's Movie Palace or Museum
Luce Foundation Center Activity |
Peek into one of David Beck's sculptures: Movie Palace features characters in action -- eating popcorn, smooching, and watching King Kong on the big screen. Museum was commissioned by the museum and reflects -- in exquisite miniature -- the neoclassical architecture of the building, from the 1840s when it was the U.S. Patent Office to the present day. Afterwards, enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea.
